Sidney Muntean is a Romanian-American writer who resides in Southern California. She is the founder and editor-in-chief of The Junebug Journal. Her work appears in Orca, Sunspot Lit, Adonis Designs Press, and Rising Phoenix Press, among others.
Sidney is a current high school student at Orange County School of the Arts. She is in the Creative Writing Conservatory, where she has taken a variety of different writing classes such as Performance Poetry, Screenwriting, Speculative Fiction, and Lyrics as Literature.
Her writing has been recognized by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, the Kay Snow Writing Awards, and the Freedom to Read and Write Art & Poetry Contest.
Sidney is particularly interested in the intersections between varying creative art forms and believes that art is the best representation of humanity.
Sidney is also passionate about teaching. In her free time, she holds writing workshops for children at her local library in addition to teaching English as a second language for children in Southeast Asia.
When she’s not writing or teaching, Sidney can be found curled up with a book, off on a picnic, or dancing in the rain.
